Privacy policy
Da Nang Pointer is an independent travel guide to Da Nang. This page says what the site collects, which cookies run, and how to ask about your data. The short version: analytics, affiliate clicks, and the email you give us if you subscribe.

Information we collect
If you only read the site, we do not ask for your name. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-KV0J0SN4M2) receives standard analytics: pages viewed, browser type, and a coarse location. The tag runs with analytics storage allowed and advertising storage denied, so we are not using it to build ads profiles.
If you subscribe to the email note, we store the email address you submit, the site hostname, and the page path the form was on. That row lives in our database so we can send the note and so you can ask us to delete it.
The contact form on the about page does not send the message to us. It only confirms in your browser. Email is the way a correction actually arrives.
Affiliate links
Some links are affiliate links. Agoda is a direct partner. Other booking links go through Travelpayouts, which may include Booking.com, Hotellook, Klook, Tiqets, Aviasales, Kiwitaxi and Airalo. If you book after using one of those links, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price you would pay without the link. The detail is on the affiliate disclosure and in the terms.
Cookies
Google Analytics 4 sets its own cookies (commonly named _ga) so it can tell a returning browser from a new one. We use that to see which guides get read. We do not sell that data.
When you click an Agoda or Travelpayouts link, that company may set its own cookies to record the referral. Those cookies belong to them, under their policies, not under this page.
Your data rights
You can email hello@danangpointer.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. For a subscriber, that means the email address, the site it was stored against, and the page path. We will action a clear request. Analytics data held by Google is subject to Google's own retention, and we cannot delete a cookie that already sits in your browser. You can block or clear cookies in the browser.
