If you searched for the Da Nang fake market, you mean Han Market. Chợ Hàn is the covered market at 119 Trần Phú, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, on the city side of the Han River. The Da Nang city portal lists it open from 06:00 to 19:00 and names mắm nêm, mực rim me, chả bò, dried seafood and handmade souvenirs as what it sells. The clothes floor above that is the part travellers call the fake market. I use the city’s name for the building and the travellers’ name for the problem upstairs.
The photos below are from 2010 and 2015. They show the market, not today’s shopfronts.

What “fake market” means here
Han Market is a working market, not a single counterfeit mall with a neon sign and a business plan. Downstairs is food. Upstairs is where fabric, clothes and souvenir stalls sit, and where people go looking for cheap bags and branded-looking clothes.
On 5 June 2026, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security reported that economic-security police had inspected a shop called CHO HAN Global on Trần Phú, Hải Châu. The report says they found thousands of branded bags, clothes, wallets, perfume, shoes, belts, scarves and watches with no origin invoices. Brands named in that report include MALVON, GUCCI, J. LINDEBERG, TITLEIST, NIKE, HERMES and HUBLOT.
Read that as a warning, not a shopping list. Those goods were not presented as genuine stock with invoices. Copies of trademarked brands are what the inspection was about. If a stall cannot show where an item came from, you have no recourse when it falls apart, and you are buying the thing the police report described. I am not going to list stalls, prices or a bargaining script for that.
What the city actually promotes is downstairs and in the dried-goods stalls: mắm nêm, mực rim me, chả bò, dried seafood and handmade souvenirs. That is the market I would send you to.
The food floor
The city portal’s product list is dried and prepared local food, not a fashion directory. The ground floor is the produce and seafood hall: fish, meat, fruit, and the dried squid and fish that people carry home.
The Da Nang food guide is the page for what to eat here and what it costs. Breakfast stalls are the reason to come early. By late afternoon the fresh hall is winding down even though the posted close is 19:00.
Upstairs: fabric, clothes, copies
The upper floor is fabric, clothes, tailoring and souvenirs. This is the floor the “fake market” search is about. A roll of cloth or a plain T-shirt is a normal market purchase. A bag with a luxury logo and no invoice is the stock described in the June 2026 police report. Ordinary clothes shopping, and how it differs from a Hoi An tailor, is the clothes markets guide.
Danang Fantasticity, the city tourism site, describes a two-floor building that has operated since the 1940s, with the current building from 1989. That page is dated 31 October 2016. I am using it for the building’s history, not for a current price: it also prints “Price: 01 USD”, which does not match a ticket I can verify in 2026, so I am leaving the fee out. That old dollar sign is not an entry policy. It is a leftover.
Getting there
Han Market is a walk from the river. The getting around Da Nang guide notes that Bạch Đằng from the Dragon Bridge to Han Market is comfortable on foot. The city centre area guide covers that river grid, and hotels near the Dragon Bridge are the stays that can walk here.
Con Market is the other large covered market, west of here at 318 Ông Ích Khiêm. Same city page, different hours: 07:00–19:30. Different building, different job.
The beach is a separate trip. Alisia Beach Hotel is not a market hotel: it is at 19 Hoàng Sa, Phước Mỹ, at the north end of the beach road, 40 metres from the sand.
FAQ
Where is the fake market in Da Nang?
Han Market, 119 Trần Phú, Hải Châu, beside the Han River. The branded-looking clothes and bags are upstairs. The ground floor is food and dried goods. I would shop downstairs and treat the logos upstairs as a warning.
What time does Han Market open?
The Da Nang city portal lists 06:00–19:00. Go in the morning if you want the food hall at full strength. I would. The afternoon is a thinner market.
Is there an entry fee?
The city market page does not list a ticket. A 2016 tourism page prints “01 USD”, which I cannot confirm as a 2026 entry fee, so this guide does not state one. A missing fee stays missing.
What is worth buying?
Dried seafood, mắm nêm, mực rim me, chả bò and handmade souvenirs, the products the city portal names. For what to eat on the day, use the food guide. Skip branded goods that have no origin invoice. The 5 June 2026 Ministry of Public Security report on CHO HAN Global is the reason. Dried squid is the souvenir I would actually carry home.
How do I get to Han Market?
Walk the river from the Dragon Bridge along Bạch Đằng. The city centre guide and the getting around guide cover the rest of the trip from the beach. It is an easy walk if you are already on this bank.
Is Con Market the same place?
No. Con Market (Chợ Cồn) is at 318 Ông Ích Khiêm, Hải Châu 2, listed 07:00–19:30. It has its own activity page. Same city, different job.
